North Greenwich Nursery School believes that by providing a stimulating environment, which emphasizes growth in intellectual, social, emotional and physical development, the children will flourish.  We are fully committed to creating a warm, caring and supportive atmosphere where we welcome each child’s individuality, nurture their self-confidence and develop a love of learning.

With just one visit to NGNS, you will see that the school is more like an extended family. The children’s accomplishments and participation is as exciting for our teachers as it is for parents. In fact, many of our staff members are parents of children who attended NGNS, so they understand the importance of your child’s experience here.

NGNS is a community. As a non-denominational organization, we embrace diversity and encourage children to celebrate and respect their differences while learning about various cultures and languages – in the fall of 2006 we will begin our new Spanish language class once a week.

In our center-based environment, children learn through meaningful play, developing skills for further educational development. Learning through play helps children expand their physical coordination, emotional maturity and social skills to interact with other children. [Read more.]

NGNS prides itself on open communication with parents. Parental involvement plays a large part in the close-knit community of our school. Nearly all NGNS parents volunteer for special fundraising events like the Apple Festival or the Spring Dinner. Others are welcome to visit their child's classroom to read a book, make a special craft, or bake some cookies.
